The Course Before the Course

The prompt is never the bottleneck.
Your thinking is.

The cognitive discipline that makes every AI interaction produce better output. Regardless of the tool, the model, or the subscription. 22 lessons that change how you think before you type.

The problem

Same tool. Same AI. Same subscription.
Completely different output.

You've seen it. Two people use the same AI. One produces work that gets forwarded to the CEO. The other produces work that gets a polite "can you redo this?"

Same model. Same subscription. Same prompt format.

The difference is not the tool. The difference is the five minutes of thinking that happened before the tool was involved.

Most AI courses teach you which buttons to click. This course teaches you what to think before you click anything.

The Stack

Four layers. 22 lessons.
One discipline.

Each layer builds on the one below. The stack compounds with use.

Module 0 · Primer 00
Why expertise wins

The Taste Gap

Why same tool plus different human equals different universe. Marc's Song. The GPS Metaphor. The AI Talent Stack.

3 lessons
Layer 1 01
Think before you prompt

The 5-Minute Rule

Four questions on paper before you touch any AI. The Outcome Stack. The Quality Compass. The Error Pre-Mortem. The GPS Brief. Live demo with timer.

6 lessons
Layer 2 02
Judge what AI gives you

Verification

Polished and correct are not the same thing. Generator, Critic, Decision-Maker. Risk-matched review. The 10x Test. Deterministic checks.

5 lessons
Layer 3 03
Decide under ambiguity

Decisions

The Paradox of Choice. Writing as deciding. Calibrated confidence. The accountability line. When the AI gives you 3 options and you freeze.

Layer 4 04
Assemble the stack

Your Personal System

Build your Pre-Prompt Protocol and Post-Output Protocol. Customize for your role. Capstone: run both protocols on a real task and measure the before-and-after.

4 lessons + capstone
Live proof · Lesson 1.6

4 minutes and 23 seconds. Real task. Real timer. CM runs the 5-Minute Rule on camera, then shows the output side by side with what a one-line prompt would have produced. They are not in the same league. The difference wasn't the AI.

"The prompt writes itself when the thinking is clear."

Grounded in 30+ peer-reviewed papers including CHI 2024 best paper on AI metacognition, MIT Media Lab on cognitive debt, Slamecka and Graf on the generation effect, Ericsson on deliberate practice, and Kahneman on System 1 vs System 2.

Honestly

This is for you if:

You use AI regularly but your output feels generic
You've tried better prompts and nothing changed
You ship AI work and hope nobody looks too closely
You want to produce work that makes people ask "how did you do that?"
You're starting from scratch and want the foundation, not the surface

Don't take this if:

You want tool tutorials. This teaches thinking, not tools.
You want prompt templates. The prompt is never the bottleneck.
You want a weekend hack. This is a discipline, not a shortcut.

FAQ

Before you ask.

The questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, email [email protected].

What's actually in this course?
22 lessons across 4 layers: The Taste Gap (why expertise matters more, not less, with AI), The 5-Minute Rule (the discipline before you type), Verification (catching what polished output hides), and Decisions (when AI helps and when it doesn't). Plus a fifth section where you wire it all into your personal system.
How is this different from The AI OS Course?
The Thinking Stack is the prerequisite — the cognitive discipline before any framework. The AI OS Course (€497) is the full LUMEN system you build on top of it. Most people who buy The AI OS Course later tell us they wish they'd done The Thinking Stack first.
Will this teach me to use ChatGPT or Claude better?
Yes, but indirectly. We don't teach prompts or 'tricks.' We teach the four cognitive habits that change what you ask, when you ask it, and how you read the output. The result is better work from any model.
I already use AI every day. Will I learn anything new?
If you already use AI and still feel your output is generic, this is the gap. Most people who say 'I'm good at AI' have skipped this layer. The course is short for a reason: it's the missing foundation, not more tactics.
Do I need a paid AI subscription?
A paid ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini plan helps but isn't required. Free tiers work for the lessons. The course is tool-agnostic.
How long will it take?
Most people finish in 4–6 hours of focused work, spread across one or two weeks. Lifetime access means there's no deadline.
Can my company pay for this?
Yes. We issue VAT-compliant invoices. Email [email protected] with subject 'Reimbursement' and we'll send a one-pager you can forward to your L&D or manager.
What's the refund policy?
€97 courses are non-refundable. The price is set deliberately low so the decision is small. If you have a real problem (technical access, etc.) email [email protected] and we'll fix it.

The prompt is never the bottleneck.

Your thinking is. 22 lessons that fix it. €97. Lifetime access.
